Troy Introduces Advanced Polyphase 763CR Dry-Film Preservative

Friday, October 6, 2017 - Florham Park, NJ Troy Corporation announced today that it has introduced a latest-technology controlled release dry-film preservative for the US market. To address the need for exterior coatings protection against severe algal growth, as well as fungal growth, Troy developed advanced Polyphase 763CR, an innovative IPBC-based preservative featuring encapsulated algaecide technology. This innovative preservative is designed to enable manufacturers marketing nationwide paints and coatings to provide high-quality protection of their end products regardless of the region of the country in which theyre used and the environmental and microbial conditions encountered.

Polyphase 763CR is a broad-spectrum water-based product that is effective against a wide variety of fungal and algal organisms. The introduction of Polyphase 763CR is especially valuable in regions subject to high levels of rainfall and humidity, says Troys Dr. Izzy Colon, Senior Vice President, Science & Technology. The preservative is highly resistant to leaching of the algaecide active, which is due to controlled release technology.

Controlled release technology also protects the algaecide active from degradation caused by hydrolysis over highly alkaline substrates, such as stucco and other cementitious coatings. Polyphase 763CR is compatible in a wide range of systems and is ideal for use over wood, HardieBoard, stucco, EIFS, and other common substrates. The result is exceptional performance against algae for longer periods of time than other materials currently available, continues Colon.
