Thixotropy: The property of a liquid system that enables it to thicken or stiffen in a relatively short time on standing at rest but, upon isothermal agitation or manipulation to change to a very soft consistency or to a fluid of high viscosity, the process being completely reversible. Troy rheology modifying additives provide a high degree of thixotropy.
